A grey bedroom will promote concentration and relaxation. If you wish, it is easy to liven up its calm character with your favourite colours and accessories.

In a grey bedroom, even the most subtle accents can be given the right emphasis. The warm hue of the natural wooden floor, the soothing green of the plants or the vivid colours of your favourite ornaments and accessories will make their presence felt even more in the muted, neutral surroundings.

This makes the universal grey colour even more popular with lovers of calm minimalism and those who like to change things up all the time. With the help of soft colours, we can create a cosy, calm space, in which it will be easy to make further changes to the décor over time. How do you do it? Here are some useful tips.

GREY BEDROOM: PLAYING WITH SHADES AND LIGHT

Grey has more than one name, so in order to avoid boredom, try using several different shades in your bedroom design . This will give the space more depth and an interesting rhythm. Gentle juxtapositions of light and dark variants of grey will also help to make the interior seem slightly larger than it really is.

The amount of natural light coming in will play a big part in the implementation of our ideas for a grey bedroom. In small interiors, where there is little natural light during the day, it is best to opt for light shades on the walls and furniture: noble platinum, mouse grey and soft, light ash. In addition, they can also be broken up with bright white - this helps to make the interior feel even more light and does not appear too cramped or gloomy.

In sunny, spacious rooms, darker grey variants such as chic graphite or deep anthracite are also an option. The easiest way to introduce a distinctive accent to our bedroom is with furniture from the Simple collection. We can compose it ourselves in many different ways - for example by choosing a grey finish for a practical dressing table, a roomy chest of drawers or a comfortable bed with a high top. A distinctive accent in the grey bedroom can become the elegant Harmonic bed, with its upholstered chest and soft headrest, which will serve as a comfortable backrest in the evenings and during the day.

In a large bedroom, a darker colour can also be used to highlight one of the walls. With the Kerradeco wall system you can easily do this without even using a paintbrush - just choose a shade from the Stone Line collection, which is inspired by natural stone. This is the easiest way to break the boredom and highlight the wall under which the bed or dressing table will stand.

WHITE AND WOOD IN THE MAIN ROLE

When arranging a grey bedroom, remember not to place too many elements in it - especially if you have a small area. If you leave a bit of space in the room, you will feel more at ease: The interior will become light and cosy, and your favourite accents will be even more pronounced.

A particularly subtle effect can be achieved by placing versatile white furniture against the grey walls. Some of them will also help to add variety to the bedroom colour scheme. The wide Concept bookcase combines white with a graphite finish on the drawers, and you can also choose one of six colours for the front of the lockable cabinet in the middle. The whole set will become even more colourful when you arrange your favourite books and ornaments on the shelves.

The clever 4 You bed will also help to create a functional arrangement for a small bedroom, with the headboard providing additional storage space. The bookcase has enough space for frames or books to create a private library in the bedroom. The liftable frame, on the other hand, conceals a spacious storage compartment underneath, in which we can store, for example, spare bedding, blankets and pillows. As a result, we no longer need to set up an additional chest of drawers inside. The bed also has a practical canopy and ladders for hanging your favourite ornaments, plants or softly shining beige Happy Lights. There is also an additional alcove just below it - the perfect place for all the things you want to keep close at hand.

In addition to the timeless white, warm, wooden accents - for example, vinyl panels or oak-finished furniture from the Nature collection-are also useful. They warm up the interior and can be used in a grey décor. They also help to make the interior even more functional: a small butler can be used as a stool or a place to hang clothes, and a multifunctional dressing table with a drop-down table top can be used as a make-up corner or a small desk depending on the time of day. This is especially useful if you also want to create a place to work in your grey bedroom.

GREY BEDROOM IN MONOCHROME

A harmonious interior has a calming and soothing effect on the senses. Looking for a way to arrange a space, which will allow you to freely drift away with your thoughts from everyday matters, we may be tempted to create a striking interior in a monochromatic version. And we do not have to be afraid that an arrangement made using only one colour will be monotonous and predictable.

To add variety to a monochromatic interior, vary the degree of saturation and the tone of the base colour. Grey bedroom walls in a dark shade will accentuate light-coloured furniture fronts or ashen-coloured furniture. An effective play of colours can also be started with a very light, dove colour on the walls. Darker or even completely black bedroom furniture will add a distinctive touch. At the same time, we don't have to be afraid of a too dark arrangement. In combination with lighter textiles, such as white bedding and curtains, a sophisticated and balanced interior is created.

Monotony can be avoided not only by an appropriate use of colours, but also by choosing materials with different textures. Cool shades of grey will beautifully balance out natural floors in a warm, honey-coloured tone. If we want to bring a modern touch to our interiors, we can opt for raw finishing elements. Vinyl floors imitating concrete will beautifully complement the grey walls, creating a cohesive bedroom arrangement.

ADDITIONS TO A GREY BEDROOM

A cosy and personal space is complemented by accessories. Depending on your ideas, they can complement the interior design harmoniously or stand out clearly.

It doesn't take much to turn a room into a comfortable and convenient retreat. In a grey bedroom, decorative textiles are particularly useful. Pair decorative cushions with a warm woollen blank et and spread them on the bed or arrange them on the armchair. Such a basic set will suffice, especially if one of the bedroom walls is painted in a contrasting and distinctive colour. The interior does not need any more decorations - the minimalism of the accessories will be balanced by a strong colour accent.

If you want light-coloured walls and furniture to optically enlarge the space, the effect can be further enhanced with a mirror. It will reflect the sun's rays and will come in handy during your morning rituals. The Bosa mirror with its subtle bouclé fabric frame will blend in neatly with the grey colour scheme. Photo frames from the Mun and Muno collections will also adorn the walls. By combining the crisp black with the warm shade of light wood, our most treasured personal mementos and memories will subtly stand out in the grey bedroom - especially when hanging black and white photographs.

You can also create a cosy atmosphere in the grey bedroom with lighting. Incandescent bulbs with a warm, yellowish light will come in handy. Their delicate glow will be broken up by the original form of the Ombra hanging lamp, which, together with bedside lamps, will help us create an engaging play of light and shadow in the grey bedroom.
