Ideas for summer balcony design a kingdom of plants, sunshine and pleasure
The best thing about balcony design is that it really doesn't take much to completely transform the space. On a sunny day, all you need to do is bring a few of your favourite pieces of furniture outside and you can quickly create a cosy corner for yourself - just in time for a morning with a cup of coffee, an afternoon with a book or an evening with friends.
On the balcony, there are also accessories to help us better organise the space and atmospheric lighting to further emphasise the relaxing atmosphere. With solutions to help you stay well organised, everything will always be close at hand.
MAKE YOURSELF COMFORTABLE ON YOUR BALCONY
The Looz and Mildo pouffes will help you enjoy the summer in comfort. They differ only in design, because they are both equally compact, light and comfortable. Together, they form an extremely practical mini-relaxation set - after all, each of them can be used both as a place to sit and as a comfortable footrest when we want to stretch our legs for a while on our balcony or sunbathe for a while. If, on the other hand, we prefer to soak up the sun in a soft seat, the Saco pouffe is indispensable, as it adjusts itself to the position in which it is most comfortable.
When a little more seating is needed, the clever Closer chairs can go from the kitchen or dining room straight to the balcony. Thanks to their swivel seats, you don't have to move away to get up from the table or change position. So even on a small balcony in a block of flats, we will never be too cramped. On sunny days, we can also bring the wide Spot bench with three practical removable drawers out of the dining room. To make sitting on it even more comfortable, a matching cushion will also come in handy.
The relaxing atmosphere on the balcony will be enhanced at any time of day by bright accessories: colourful Happy Lights or bamboo lanterns in various sizes can be placed on the ground or hung just above the table.
WELL-ORGANISED RELAXATION
The best way to relax is when everything is close at hand. If we want our balcony to be well organised, let's think about what we will need most during lazy afternoons or warm evenings.
Candles, coloured lamps or plant care accessories will find their place in a lightweight jute basket. This soft textile container with handles makes it easy to carry and is perfect for storing small items. Larger items - such as soft cushions or colourful Muff fleece blankets made of natural wool, which are handy when the weather gets a bit chilly - can be stored in the spacious Aria basket. It can be easily carried back into the house at any time thanks to the convenient handles.
A BALCONY FULL OF GREENERY
No balcony is complete without plants. Colourful flowers and fragrant herbs feel most comfortable on a space bathed in sunlight, but you can also plant a rooted willow branch, a small tree or a few favourite vegetables. You can also invite your green pets onto the loggia, which is hidden in pleasant shade. Choose plants that don't need a lot of light: for example, wild ivy braids, which you hang in sheaths with thongs. The best effect is achieved by hanging small and large covers at different heights - they will give your balcony an interesting rhythm and help you achieve a dense jungle effect.
Although flower pots are most often hung on balcony railings, let's not forget that pots with our green pets can also decorate the walls. The Yule, Vigo and Est metal shelves will help to arrange a green corner on the balcony. They are the ideal place for small flower pots. If you want, plants can also be placed on the ground, for example right next to the railings, where they can catch natural light. Redo trays will come in handy, further warming up the balcony arrangement with their elegant brick colour - especially when paired with matching pot covers.
A small Nuo greenhouse can also become a balcony ornament. With it, we can start a balcony tomato garden or invite small succulents outside. Larger plants can be placed on top of the Ardola metal pots, which will give them easier access to the sun's rays.
YOUR OWN CORNER FOR YOUR PET
When arranging our balcony, we can also prepare a suitable lounging area for our pets too. Dogs only need something soft to lie down on. If your dog is small enough to squeeze through the rungs, consider a safety mat.
Cat owners, on the other hand, will need a special net. Choose the type of netting that suits your cat's temperament - for calm cats a simple fishing net will suffice, and for the most playful ones a slightly stiffer, reinforced protection will be better.
We can even give our four-legged pets their own corner on the balcony by bringing a comfortable pet cupboard outside. Lined with a soft cushion or blanket, it will become an ideal, shady spot where our cuddly friends will find shelter from the heat.
MAKE YOUR BALCONY YOUR OWN
It is said that a balcony is like an outdoor living room. When you bring a few handy, multifunctional pieces of furniture outside, you can easily turn it into a dining room, a reading room or a sun-filled study too.
It all depends on our ideas. Sometimes you really don't need much - although we can drown the space in cushions and greenery, for an atmospheric balcony arrangement in a block of flats, even a single table and two chairs are often enough. Let's relax the way we like it best!
