How to store bed linen? order in the bedroom

Made of linen or cotton satin, coloured or single-coloured. Bed linen ensures a healthy and restful night's sleep and can also decorate the bedroom. However, in order for pillowcases, sheets and plaids to do their job well, it is worth taking proper care of them - not only at the cleaning stage, but also in storage.

Sinking into fragrant, clean bedding is a real pleasure. Unfortunately, so are the bacteria and mites that like to inhabit the fabrics we sleep under. By covering them with an extra bedspread, we reduce the risk of unwanted guests. But what should you do with bedding you are not currently using? Protect it from dust and allergens. Stored correctly, they will retain their freshness and quality for a long time.

Storing bedding - start with good organisation

Before deciding on the best place to store your bedding, take a look at the bedding sets you have. You may find that some of them have reached the end of their useful life. It may also be worth thinking about refreshing your long-lost pillowcases. Remember to dry the fabric well after washing before storing it in a wardrobe or a box, otherwise it will start to smell over time. You can also use an iron to further disinfect your bedding.

Once you have your textiles sorted, it will be easier to find a suitable storage space. It should be dry and have good ventilation. To keep bed linen close at hand, it is best to organise it in the bedroom. If you often have guests staying overnight, place an extra set in the living room as well, using the storage space in the sofa bed. It is also a good idea to set aside a separate space for bed linen in the children's room.

Duvets and pillows also need proper storage. Both down and synthetic duvets and pillows do not like moisture or prolonged stress. It is advisable to place them in special zipped covers that are tailored to their size. This will reduce the risk of them getting dirty, and if you put a few sachets with hygroscopic granules inside, you will also solve the problem of excess moisture.

How to store bedding in the bedroom?

Storing bed linen in the bedroom will be made easier by the space under the bed. You will find a capacious storage space in, among others, upholstered models and those from the Creative or Simple collection. It will be perfect especially in a small flat, when you cannot afford to buy a large wardrobe. Under the mattress you can place not only bed linen, but also additional quilts and pillows.

Bed linen can be stored under the bed, even if our model is not equipped with a chest. All you need to do is buy a special drawer. This one from the Nature collection has been finished with castors, so you can easily pull it out yourself. Equally convenient is the Spot Young drawer, which can be positioned at the side or front of the bed and gives you easy access to your textiles regardless of the bedroom layout.

When you hide bed linen under the bed, you will not prevent dust from accumulating on it. To make sure your textiles stay perfectly clean, you can place them in resealable containers or vacuum bags. It's a good idea to store pillowcase sets together with matching sheets, so that entire sets are ready to use.

Storing bedding in the wardrobe

When we think about how to store bedding in the bedroom, the wardrobe often comes to mind too. It's a good idea to hide the bed linen behind a front that you don't use every day - this way it's less likely to get dusty. A separate shelf for textiles can easily be found in a 4-door model from the Simple, 4 You or Creative collections.

For a smaller wardrobe it is worth buying a special extension, which will provide the missing space for bed linen. Alternatively, a small chest of drawers with deep drawers may be used to store bed linen together with towels and underwear.

To make pillowcases and sheets take up less space, you can fold them into cubes or roll them up. Make sure, however, that they are not too tightly compressed. Free flowing air will ensure that the fabrics remain in good condition for a long time. Use pull-out baskets or openwork bins to organise your bedding in the wardrobe.

Where to put bedding in the living room?

If our bedroom is too small to store bedding in, it is not worth taking the textiles to the attic or basement, where the temperature and air humidity change frequently. Much more comfortable conditions for any textiles will be provided by the home living room. It would be a good idea to place a wardrobe or a partially closed bookcase in the living room, which can also be used for storing tableware.

A sofa or corner sofa box will also be ideal for storing bedding. It is worth thinking about this already at the stage of purchasing leisure furniture and choosing a model with a container. If we care as much about functionality as about specific aesthetics, we can opt for Confii modular furniture. We can easily adjust each element to our needs. Personalised seats can have not only bedding containers, but also a rarely found sleeping function.

Extra space for plaids and cushions

Pillows with storage compartments will also help us to keep our living room well organised and tidy. The storage compartments contain the softCotta, Noel or Milton footstools. With these, a warm blanket and cushion can be within easy reach during an evening's relaxation. A lockable storage box, which can also be used as a coffee table, will also protect textiles from dust.

The storage of daily-used textiles is also made easier with lightweight organisers that can be moved to the children's room or bedroom if necessary. A treat for the real cold-weather person, however, will be the accessories with which the Conffi modules can be supplemented. The metal basket can easily hold a woollen blanket, while the accompanying wooden top can be used to set down a mug of hot tea.
