Modern laundry at home we suggest how to arrange it
The laundry room in the home is a space that can make dealing with washing, drying, ironing and storing detergents much more efficient. The right furniture and appliances and a thoughtful layout will make your daily routine more enjoyable. We suggest how to arrange your laundry room at home to help you with your household chores.
You don't necessarily need a spacious room on the ground floor of a detached house to have a laundry room. Just 3-4 m² is enough to accommodate a washing machine, dryer, laundry baskets and basic furniture for storing detergents and accessories. A home laundry room is best planned at the design stage of the house to avoid later complications with installations, to ensure an ergonomic layout of furniture and appliances and to make maximum use of the available space.
MODERN LAUNDRY ROOM AT HOME - WHAT SHOULD IT CONTAIN?
A well-thought-out layout is the key to a functional laundry room. Although the washing machine and dryer are the most important, it is worth thinking about additional elements that will make everyday work easier. We explain what to look for when planning your laundry room equipment.

WHAT SHOULD YOU EQUIP YOUR LAUNDRY ROOM WITH? OPT FOR SPACIOUS WARDROBES!
The basis of good organisation is furniture. A made-to-measure wardrobe from a carpenter is a good idea, although the implementation itself can be time-consuming and the end result difficult to predict. An alternative is Stor modular wardrobes, which can be personalised and, thanks to masking strips, can be fitted into any space to create a built-in wardrobe effect. We can choose their width, height and fittings. If you opt for a side wardrobe, you will gain extra space for your clothes ironing board and iron.
If we like to experiment with style, it is worth betting on the Creative collection wardrobes. This is furniture that offers great design possibilities, according to your own vision and needs. We may independently select the colours of fronts, types of handles, and even the arrangement of shelves and drawers, creating unique solutions, which will perfectly match the character of the interior.
In small laundry rooms, corner cabinets are an interesting solution. They allow maximum use of the available space and the development of irregular corners. The simple design of the shelves makes access to stored items convenient, which makes it easier to keep things tidy and aesthetically pleasing even in a small room.
A shallow shelving unit can also be the basis of a laundry room in a small flat. It will be ideal for storing laundry detergents. If there are small children living in the house, choose a lockable model and install an additional lock to make it difficult to access the detergents.
A SMALL LAUNDRY ROOM AND GREAT POSSIBILITIES THANKS TO PRACTICAL ACCESSORIES
Organising all the detergents and gadgets in the laundry room is made possible by ingenious accessories. Easy-to-carry baskets for linen and dirty clothes are a practical solution, as are organisers that allow you to store cleaning products. On an empty wall, it is a good idea to hang a Slot wall board to save space in the cupboards. Inside the wardrobes, on the other hand, there should be hangers for freshly ironed dresses. A free-standing clothes dryer will also come in handy.

IN A SEPARATE ROOM OR AS AN ANNEX - WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE TO DO LAUNDRY?
The location of the laundry room is also important. If you have the option of having the laundry room in a separate utility room, it is worth taking advantage of it. Behind its door, the chaos of daily washing and ironing of clothes will be contained, and the noise of the washing machine and dryer will not reverberate throughout the house. A convenient solution is to separate such a room in the attic space or basement of the house, which will allow us to make use of less frequented interiors and, at the same time, separate the zone of domestic duties from the living area.
Most importantly, however, are our needs and habits. If we don't turn on the washing machine or dryer at night, an auxiliary room may be more useful near the bedroom.
Of course, we do not always have the space for a separate laundry room. A modern laundry room can also be arranged in the bathroom or the hallway. A so-called laundry tower, i.e. placing the washing machine and dryer on top of each other and hiding them in a built-in piece of furniture, will then work well. This arrangement allows greater ergonomics and convenient access to both appliances.
A narrow laundry room in a house requires more attention when choosing appliances. In this case, an upward-opening washing machine will work better, as a traditional opening door could impede free communication.
WHAT MATERIALS WILL WORK IN THE LAUNDRY ROOM? OPT FOR ROBUSTNESS AND DURABILITY
Although it is customary to lay tiles in utility rooms exposed to moisture, panelling is an increasingly popular alternative. When decorating a laundry room, it is best to opt for waterproof or water-resistant ones. While the former can remain in direct contact with water for 24 hours without risking damage to the surface, the latter are completely waterproof, no matter how long it takes.
Rega waterproofvinyl panels can be laid in rooms such as the laundry room, kitchen and even the bathroom. They are extremely durable and resistant to damage and, thanks to their inner composite layer, very strong. Rigio panels, on the other hand, with their hard core and added mineral fibre, use an extremely tight locking system that can easily withstand direct contact with water. As a result, they can be laid throughout the house, even next to the shower cubicle itself.
In rooms exposed to moisture, it is not only the floors that need the right materials - frames and doors are equally important. They should be made of water- and temperature-resistant material or protected with special coatings that protect them against deformation, swelling or discolouration. A great example is the modern Porta Hydro door frame, which is 100% water-resistant. This ensures that the entire space remains aesthetically pleasing and functional for years to come.
What about the walls? We have a solution for that too. In the laundry room, you can cover them without any worries with Idevo mineral panels or Linerio slats, which are completely waterproof and are also great for visually dividing rooms into different zones. They are a great choice if you want to furnish a modern laundry room.
LAUNDRY ROOM LIGHTING - WHICH LAMPS TO CHOOSE FOR A SMALL SPACE?
Well-chosen lighting not only enhances the design of the laundry room, but is also very important for comfort. In multifunctional spaces, a combination of a ceiling lamp to provide even illumination and spotlights on the wall to illuminate specific areas, such as the work surface, utility sink or ironing corner, works best.
