How to arrange the furniture
in a small youth room? key principles
Adolescence is a period when the need for privacy becomes particularly strong. A place where the teenager can close the door behind him and spend time in his own way becomes of paramount importance. Arranging a small space can seem like a daunting task. We suggest how to position the furniture in a teenager's room to make it a functional and comfortable retreat, conducive to both study and relaxation.
A cluttered space is not conducive to development. On a daily basis, a young person needs space to store a lot of his or her belongings - from clothes to books to electronic equipment or gadgets related to passions. For this, he needs furniture that is pleasing to the eye on the one hand and can cope with his needs on the other.
Thoughtful solutions - capacious drawers, clever storage compartments and flexible storage systems - help to keep the space in check, stay tidy and at the same time create an inspiring place to study and relax. In this article, we suggest how to arrange them comfortably in the interior of a youth room.
HOW TO ARRANGE FURNITURE IN A SMALL TEENAGER'S ROOM? DESIGNATE ZONES
Every teenager needs a place to sleep, study, store and relax. A multi-purpose space divided into zones will suit each of these roles.
Spacious wardrobes and chests of drawers, in which various things can be easily sorted, will help in arranging the storage zone. It is advisable to place them on one wall, creating a coherent arrangement. This will keep the room tidy and make it much more convenient to use.
In organising a small interior, it is also worth making use of the walls. Hanging a Reli shelf above the bed will save space on the floor and provide an additional hiding place for various treasures.
When arranging the study area in a teenager's room, the desk plays the most important role. It is best to place it close to the window, so that natural light can be used during the day. Make sure that the most necessary things, such as books and school supplies, are within easy reach - on the shelves above the desk or on the bookcase next to it. And don't forget about storage space for small items. The Concept mobile pedestal, which can be hidden under the desk if necessary, is ideal for this purpose.
In a small teenager' s room, it is best to position the bed along a wall to save more space in the middle of the room. Consider a model with drawers or a bunk bed, under which you can organise storage space or even set up a desk. A shelf mounted to the bed can take over the role of a bedside table. It is a deeper box, so you can comfortably put things in it without having to worry about them accidentally sliding to the floor.
In a small teenager's room, there is not always space for a separate entertainment area. It may be a fold-out sofa or a nicely furnished corner bed with an upholstered backrest, but if there is a possibility - it is worth using a crawling mattress, which can be conveniently tucked away if necessary. Light poufs or seats with built-in storage and a small coffee table will also work well.
HOW DO YOU POSITION YOUTH FURNITURE TO CREATE MORE SPACE?
In a small room, it is advisable to position youth furniture as close to the walls as possible, so that more space is left in the central part of the room for free use. A good solution is to place the bed opposite the front door (but away from the heat source) and the desk under the window. To save space as much as possible, wardrobes, shelves, bookcases and chests of drawers should be located along the longest wall of the room, making the room appear more spacious.

MULTI-FUNCTIONAL FURNITURE AS THE SECRET OF FUNCTIONAL DESIGN
When looking for clever solutions, it is worth using furniture with multiple functions. The Reli desk with a sliding top can be used as a neat dressing table (in the retracted position it is only 52 cm deep), and when extended it can create a comfortable place for studying.
When furnishing a small interior, opt for a bed with drawers that grows with the needs of the young occupant. The Muve bed can easily be extended to increase its length. An extra foldaway mattress fits neatly underneath, which can be pulled out whenever you need to sleep with friends or create an extra play area. The Spot Young bunk bed, which combines the functions of a bed, bookcase, chest of drawers and wardrobe, is also ideal for arranging a sleeping area.
It is advisable to choose furniture with the possibility of possible expansion. Wardrobe extensions allow you to get wardrobes built all the way up to the ceiling, creating additional storage space. They can be used to hold less frequently used items, such as seasonal clothes, leaving space in the lower parts of the wardrobes for everyday clothes and accessories.
A great deal of freedom in arranging the space is offered by modular furniture. They are freely combinable, making it easy to adapt the furnishings to the size of the interior and the changing needs of the teenager. We can adapt Young Users modules to the layout of any interior - we can build corner furniture, capacious wardrobes or bookcases, and supplement them with additional elements if necessary.

SPACE IS NOT EVERYTHING. GOOD PLANNING COUNTS!
When furnishing a small room for a teenager, it is worth sticking to the basic rules of ergonomics, which on the one hand will help to maximise the use of space, and on the other hand will ensure comfort and freedom of everyday use of the furniture.
Remember to leave at least 70-80 cm of free space in front of the wardrobe in order to guarantee free access to its interior. It is best to place the desk in a place with good natural light, most often under a window, and make sure there is at least 100 cm of free space behind the chair, so that it can be easily pushed in and out. Avoid positioning furniture in such a way that it blocks a window or door.
A well-planned space also means adequate lighting, which not only provides comfort when studying or using a computer, but also creates a cosy atmosphere. When arranging a room, it is worth taking care to have several sources of light to accentuate individual zones - a ceiling light for general interior lighting, a desk lamp for work and spotlights or LEDs to create a moody atmosphere.
Keeping your teenager's room tidy will be made easier with functional accessories such as bags and organisers that can be hung on the bed, doors or sides of the wardrobe. Mobile pedestals on wheels are also a great solution - they can be easily slipped under the desk to quickly tidy up the space when guests are on their way. On a day-to-day basis, they can act as a bedside table in the sleeping area.
